In the recent reorganisation of its Asia-Pacific regional office, based in Hong Kong, Paul Blanc was appointed as managing director of Groupe Beneteau Asia Pacific. The Group is now focused on building its presence in this important region. An increase of 12.7% was experienced in Europe, of which the market accounts for more than half of all of the Group’s sales.

Globally, the group is part-way through a three-year “transformation” strategy called ‘Transform to Perform’, which has seen it renew 88 of its 200 models across the 10 brands. The Group has also made a number of acquisitions including the Slovenian performance yacht builder, Seascape, and Polish boatyard Delphia.

Boating Shows across Europe and the US have been positive, with the Group also having a huge presence at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show. The excited crowd was treated to two significant launches by the Beneteau Group at this year’s show, including the international launch of the Oceanis 46.1 and the local launch of the Oceanis 51.1.

Vianney Guézénec, Asia Pacific director for Beneteau-Lagoon, commented on the cross section of models that were on display; “We have plenty of toys to play with,” he commented. “If you want Italian luxury style, we have the Monte Carlo range, if you want something more sporty we have the Gran Turismo range, the Swift range if you want to go slower and further with family and friends, fishing with the Barracuda range, and a mix of fishing and cruising with the Antares range.”

Guézénec contributes the Group’s diversity and success to its engineering and production capacity. The Group are large enough to work on different products and segments at the same time, therefore producing a wide range of vessels to suit any and every desire.
