Two highly recognised boating brands will soon call The Boat Works, Qld, home, opening new national headquarters in the precinct this month.

Cobalt Boats of Australia and Bennington Boats of Australia will showcase their latest models in a purpose-built, 350 square-foot showroom and marina facility.

Cobalt are renowned as a prestigious family bowrider brand with boats ranging from 20 to 40 feet. They also claim to be the world’s largest brand selling by market share and have just celebrated their 50th year in business.

Cobalt Boats of Australia is the distributor for the brand for Australia. The new showroom will display new Cobalt boats, ranging in size from the 200S, 20-foot model to the superb R35 36-foot luxury runabout, as well as a selection of pre-owned vessels.

Sharing the spotlight showroom will be Bennington. Aussie buyers may not have heard of this well established brand but they are the world’s number one selling luxury pontoon boat.

The first of the brand’s 2019 models, from entry level 22-feet up to the luxurious 30-foot twin engine QX models with a class-leading beam of 10-feet have arrived and are available for inspection.

These new breed of triple-performance pontoon boats boast premium quality construction and engineering and have capabilities of 55 mph (88 kmph) top speed, along with ease of manoeuvrability.

According to General Manager of the Cobalt and Bennington Brands, Andy Clayton, luxury pontoon boats are the fastest growing boating niche in new boat sales in the US and Bennington holds the number position in terms of market share.

“The range of plush models starts at $59,000 up to over $300,000+ for the top of the line 30 QX model. In addition to being beautifully designed and built, they are perfect for rural Victorian rivers, lakes, Gold Coast Broadwater, Moreton Bay, Sydney Harbour and Hawkesbury waterways.”

Andy said he is thrilled to bring these exceptional vessels to The Boat Works and proud of the new HQ.

“We have been so happy with the approach, passion and work ethic from Tony, Shane and the entire Boat Works team. They really care about what we need to grow our business and then custom built for us a facility we are incredibly proud to call our new home, we also are excited about joining such a welcoming and upbeat culture at The Boat Works.

“The ability to showcase new product indoors, have premium suppliers at our doorstep and then to be able to demonstrate our brands on the water at a moment’s notice gives us the opportunity to provide a first-class buying experience.”

Shane Subichin, The Boat Works General Manager, said Cobalt and Bennington are welcome additions to the diversity and choice at the vibrant marina and shipyard – soon to be Australia’s largest.

“The Boat Works’ southern yard is booming,” said Shane.

“Club Marine, Twin Disc Pacific, Seakeeper and now Cobalt and Bennington have opened showrooms here in the past few months, and there will be a few more major boating brands joining The Boat Works’ community very soon.

“It’s a busy time, as the northern yards expansion continues to progress through with Stage 2 & 3 underway. Our customers and tenants are all benefiting from the increased activity.”
