Chaparral and their R&D department must be working hard. According to their own media release, they don’t just jump onto the latest trends hoping to make a quick buck or fix a hole in their line up.  They take their time to get it right, often creating something that goes on to start a whole new category.  Their latest creation, the 300 OSX, looks to do exactly that. This is a wild design that looks every bit the classy dayboat with a difference. A concept that is sure to be a winner!

The 300 OSX is an outboard powered boat, but any similarities with any other outboard on the market stops right there.  This is unique; offering all the best attributes of a centre console, bow rider and day cruiser with cabin and then it’s bordering on being a serious fishing option with side door and 22 degree dead rise hull!

The triple centre console swivels across to starboard, opening up the cockpit for entertaining while the rear lounge converts, with the flick of a switch, from back to back seating to a full size sun lounge.  The bow area has a triple or even quad lounge for sun worshipping and then there is a large double cabin with head, perfect for an overnight stay, putting the mini boaters down for a snooze, or maybe enjoying a private cuddle!

An excited Scott O’Hare from Chaparral Australia said; ‘Everywhere you look this boat is loaded with new ideas, the hard top with sunroof can also accommodate an optional sure shade extension, and the ultra modern dash is sublime; boasting two big screens and prestige car like switching, while storage abounds throughout there is even an area set aside for storing dive tanks! The most impressive thing for me was the test drive; we had 13 people on board running twin 300’s and still got up on the plane at 12 knots, then pushed her up to 42 knots with still more on tap, this in about a 1 meter swell’ ;  said O’Hare – ‘I knew I was witnessing something special then.’
