Exciting details of a brand-new series of touchscreen chartplotters have been released by technology giant Garmin.

Garmin, global leaders in navigation technology, has released details of its ECHOMAP Ultra series, a brand-new line of keyed assist 10 and 12-inch chartplotters.

The ECHOMAP Ultra 105sv and ECHOMAP Ultra 125sv comprise the collection and have been built to incorporate both Garmin’s high-definition scanning sonar and the Panoptix LiveScope series. This includes the new LVS12 transducer, which is an excellent economical option to have real-time sonar imagery at video-like speed. Matthew Thomas, the General Manager of Garmin Australasia stated, “ECHOMAP Ultra forges the DNA of our popular ECHOMAP Plus series together with premium features of our best-in-class GPSMAP chartplotters, to deliver an exciting new series that brings professional performance to larger, more affordable display options.”

The ECHOMAP Ultra series can be bundled with the new Ultra High-Definition GT54UHD-TM all-in-one transducer, which allows ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar images and high wide CHIRP traditional sonar. In particular, the GT54UHD-TM’s SideVü operates at 455 kHz, allowing for extended range and depth performance.

The series incorporates NMEA 2000 connectivity and support for heading sensors, autopilots, digital switching and more. With Wi-Fi built in, anglers will be happy with the accessibility to the free all-in-one Garmin ActiveCaptain mobile app. Allowing a connection between a compatible mobile device and an ECHOMAP Ultra, the ActiveCaptain app provides a host of advantages. Updates and map purchases can be made, and anglers can buy charts from the OneChart storefront. Access to the ActiveCaptain community is available for marina and other points of interest details and access to the Quickdraw Community data is included.

The ECHOMAP Ultra 105sv and ECHOMAP Ultra 125sv chartplotters come preloaded with Australia and New Zealand BlueChart g2 vision HD cartography. With Garmin understanding that the small details count, they have included a single microSD card slot, providing expandable memory for accessory map purchases. Staying continuously connected with fellow anglers is simple with the ECHOMAP Ultra series. Both on and off the water, sonar, waypoints and routes can be shared across ECHOMAP Ultra units.
