GME has released a new, compact VHF Marine Radio ideal for use in above windscreen installations in hard-top boats.
The compact GME GX700 marine radio is also a great solution for boats with limited space.
And being waterproof to IPX7 standards, which means spray coming over the side is not going to have any impact on its performance, it will be suitable for smaller dinghies and runabouts.
Its compact design and innovative rear microphone input socket, which enables users to run an optional 5 or 8m extension cable to a convenient location on the boat to install the waterproof flush-mounted socket, provides unheralded flexibility when it comes to finding the right place for instillation.
Once you have found the right place to fit the socket it is then simply a matter of plugging in the speaker mic. The ability to place the socket wherever you like effectively puts an end to the days where the mike cable is hanging in the skippers field of vision or where it constantly gets in the way.
It is also why the new GX700 is ideal for above windscreen or in-roof instillation on boats fitted with hardtop biminis.
Crystal clear audio is delivered via the GX700’s dual speaker system, and can be further enhanced by the addition of the SPK45 extension speaker. The LCD display features large, easy to read numbers and adjustable brightness. Designed with ease of use in mind, the screen can be read from virtually any angle, day or night.
Dual watch, triple watch and two programmable priority channels provide easy access to regularly used channels. Channel scanning also is programmable, making it easy to monitor all important communications.
Available in a choice of white or black, the GX700’s sleek design will compliment the appearance of any boat. It is  available through Authorised GME Dealers at a recommended retail price of $249.
