Old Town are industry legends when it comes to fishing kayaks and on water fishing craft in general. Their kayaks are avidly used by both weekend and serious anglers. It comes as no surprise then, that the new Topwater Series from Old Town has been received with energetic enthusiasm, with three new kayaks released in the series.

Heeding the calls and cries of anglers, Old Town have designed kayaks that offer both exceptional fishing capabilities but just as importantly, are also comfortable for those long days out on the water. Anglers were also looking for a kayak that didn’t compromise on capability but was also easy to transport and store away when not in use. Old Town have listened and delivered in their all-new Topwater Series.

The series consists of two paddle kayaks that are both compact and lightweight while the third in the series is a pedal-powered version that uses Old Town’s award-winning PDL Drive for hands-free angling. It has forward and reverse manoeuvrability and rudder control knob for steering. All three kayaks in the series are exceptionally stable and have been built using the all-new ultra-stable DoubleU Hull, which provides anglers with a stand-up fishing platform that is superiorly comfortable and stable.

With a length of approximately 3.2 metres and width of approximately 92 centimetres, the kayaks weigh around 34 kilograms. With the PDL Drive, the kayak is still no more than 45 kilograms. The generous legroom and bow hatch are also no accident, adding significantly to the comfort level.

The fishability of the Old Town Topwater Series is exceptional. Equipped with on-board tackle and rod management storage, flush mount rod holders, EVA foam deck pads, a revolutionary universal transducer mounting system, oversized stern tank well, QuickSeal hatch and ElementAir Seat for added comfort, fishermen of all levels and enthusiasm will be impressed.
