Almost 12 months ago we reported on the new X-Series by Maritimo and a secondary tour of the construction facility revealed that they are well on their way with the first in this ground-breaking new range. The first in the range is the X60 and no doubt it is going to stir up the market. Having followed the thought process and seen the layouts, I wonder if this isn’t the Maritimo for me. It certainly has appeal.

The X60 is the first Maritimo in the competitive sports or sedan cruiser market and will be launched internationally at next year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The moulds were on display and construction plans well advanced judging by what we saw last week. In fact, there have already been a company record number of pre-sale deposits on this model so the excitement is real.

Maritimo’s Tom Barry-Cotter said a multiple options within the X60 living accommodations have been developed as a result of working closely with customers since concept development.

Those changes include a ‘Regency Suite’ option that expands the owner stateroom of the vessel. It reduces the standard living accommodations from three cabins to two cabins, with the expansive king bed master cabin broadening into the starboard stateroom.

“However the flexibility of the X60’s aft cabin easily enables the area to be optioned as a cavernous VIP guest cabin to be brought back to a three cabin arrangement,” he said.

The mock ups we saw and information received early on in the development also suggested a beach club bar option for this aft area and this is the one that really caught our attention, although waking up in the rear cabin with the garage door a button press away certainly has appeal too.

“Our R&D program has worked very closely with our customers in identifying user needs and how best to capitalize on the versatility of the X60 aft cabin design.” said Tom.

“The versatility offered by the X-Series Regency Suite option now enables the flexibility for owners to configure into two-cabin, multiple three-cabin, and four cabin layout. “This allows owners to customise and perfect their vessel to their exact needs.”

Tom said the uniqueness and versatility of the X-Series is what has created the early momentum.

“The recognised long range and performance heritage of past Maritimo models coupled with such versatile living arrangements, all cloaked in beautiful form has engineered something that is truly unique, and has created the aura of something that is going to be very special,” he said.

“Excitement is building not just domestically, but internationally as strong interest is developing in New Zealand, North America, Asia and Europe, with many early X60’s on order scheduled for New Zealand, North American and European destinations.”

In relation to the X-Series future models, Tom said that there are multiple X-Series models in development and scheduled for release over the next 24 months, with information on these models to be released later in 2018.
