The secret details of the Maritimo X50 have just been released at the Sydney International Boat Show, the latest and greatest of the most successful Maritimo model release ever, the X-Series. One of the most exciting announcements in the sporting yacht sector, Maritimo, Australia’s world-renowned builder of bespoke luxury motor yachts has once again stolen the limelight.

The X50 is yet another example of Maritimo’s excellence in the design innovation and technology of sport yachts globally. Following the international success of the X60 at the 2018 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, the X50 sees this successful momentum continue as Maritimo strive to develop and perfect their range. Maritimo X-Series lead designer, Tom Barry-Cotter confirmed that Maritimo would continue to push the boundaries of design innovation and that further models of the X-Series are under development.

From the Sydney International Boat Show, Tom stated, “We are leading the industry into new design territory of what is possible in sport yacht and motor yacht design, and pioneering new thinking and re-writing the rules in every facet of the company”.

Exceptional sport performance is a given, with Maritimo pushing the limits of power, hull design and propulsion which will see the X50 reach speeds in the vicinity of 36 knots. Cruising economy and trim are outstanding, with Tom Barry-Cotter stating, “The X 50 will deliver class leading fuel economy and range, high speed cruising capabilities and the latest technology from the world leaders in shaft driven performance”.

The hull design is exclusive to the X-Series range and is known for its ability to neutrally balance via the planing range. The hull reaches neutral balance via the forward placed Volvo Penta D11 670mhp or 725mhp power units and the flat efficient planing capacity is realised by the additional accommodation aft of the engine room.

The new X50 has underdone a design transformation to include two spacious staterooms and ensuites in the forward accommodations. Included is a VIP stateroom with queen bed and VIP ensuite and full beam master stateroom with queen bed as standard (king optional), desk, day bed, and large ensuite. Panoramic sea views can be enjoyed from the hull windows of each cabin.

If you should feel so inclined, a sunroof can be placed over the spacious galley or three stage sliding vista windows placed on the sides, drenching the saloon in natural light. The galley itself, generous by Maritimo nature, includes island bench, upright fridge freezer, full height pull out pantry, microwave and multiple storage cupboards and drawers.

The entertainment possibilities don’t stop here. The spacious cockpit also includes a starboard side entertainment unit and two opposing euro lounge units that can be combined to form an eight-seat protected dining area. From here, you can wander forward to the forward deck entertainment area with lounge beds with folding backrests.

The dashboard and helm are designed with both comfort and performance in mind. The Maritimo Racing function and interface experience is noticeable in every detail of the design but is done such as that it caters for the most experienced boater to a new boat user.

The X50 will make its grand debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May 2019.
