Ribco are a leader in premium Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) across the Mediterranean.  At this year’s Sydney International Boat Show between 2 – 6 August, Ribco finally made the big splash into the Australian market. The legendary Australian cricketer, Michael Clarke was announced among the first in Australia to acquire a Ribco RIB.

The company was founded in Athens, Greece, in 1994 and carries models in the Maxi RIB category from 28 feet through to 44 feet. They offer the most complete range of RIBs in the market. The tender of the past has been replaced by a sophisticated, performance-oriented vessel that has seen the RIB market become exceptionally versatile. Tenders have transformed into their own unique all-round vessel and no longer serve a singular purpose.

According to Oliver Workman of Ribco Australia, “With the ever-growing demand for genuinely offshore capable luxury RIBs in Australia, the Ribco range of vessels are perfectly positioned to enter as the most seaworthy, versatile and well-built luxury performance RIBs available in the market today.”

For Michael Clarke, the new Ribco ambassador, the versatility of the Ribco range was the winning ingredient. “As a long time boating enthusiast, I was on the search for a vessel with exceptional seaworthiness and handling when I came across Ribco on Sydney Harbour. The amazing finishes and performance of the Ribco 28ST are simply unbeatable. From the perfect center console driving position and the way the stepped hull handles, to the quality of the inflatable tubes, ample storage and seating space the Ribco 28ST over delivers in every aspect,” said Clarke.

The Ribco RIBs are packed with surprises. Offering spacious deck layouts for lounging in the sun, equipped with two sun tents with double beds, WC, hot water, photovoltaic charging system, fridges and even an espresso machine, the Ribco range of RIBs are on another level. “Ribco RIBs are unmatched in luxury, detail, speed, efficiency, safety and offshore capability. Each vessel is the culmination of over two decades of design, engineering and testing in the toughest conditions to ensure thousands of miles of faultless operation at sea. Meticulous detail and craftsmanship flow from bow to stern, highlighting our unwavering commitment to quality. This is evident from the moment you board and in every fitting and fixture used in the production of a Ribco,” says Workman.

The Australian base is located at the Sydney Superyacht Marina in Rozelle. The models brought to Australia have all the same options available to the European market. The range currently includes the Venom 44, the Seafarer 36, and the 28ST.

Ribco Venom 44   The Venom 44 is the star of the range. At 13.5-metres and a solid fibreglass composite hull designed by Lorne Campbell, the 44 is both performance and comfort focused and is the ideal luxury day boat.

The Venom 44 offers true offshore capability. With a Category B certification, it is able to go 200-nautical-miles offshore, with a 12-person capacity. With three 350 hp Mercury Verado engines, she is capable of speeds of 62 knots.

Fitted with two spacious sleeping cabins, WC, shower, bar, fridge, coffee machine, and top of the line JL audio system, the Venom 44 certainly doesn’t skimp on luxury.

Ribco Seafarer 36   The Seafarer 36 is the little sibling, compact alternative to the Venom 44. The 36 offers the same level of performance and luxury but in a 10.5 metre version.

Although the Seafarer 36 is a more compact version, space is not an issue.  The design is such that amenities have been cleverly hidden under seats or in lockers. The WC and shower hides inside the centre console and the two-person sleeping cabin is in the rear compartment. Out the back, the Seafarer 36 has two 350 hp Mercury Verado outboards.

Ribco 28ST (Two Stepped Hull)   The two stepped hull ensures speed, performance and efficiency on the 28ST model. The hull ensures lift and reduces drag, meaning a smooth, dry ride in all conditions. The 8.5m vessel drives like a sportscar and offers the same luxury touches as other Ribco models. There is plenty of storage space in the aft locker and this performance-focused vessel will have you zipping around in absolute comfort.
