In the North of Italy, on the glittering waters of the Iseo Lake, the new Riva 56’ Rivale and Abarth 695 Rivale were unveiled to the world on 10 June 2017, from the Sarnico shipyard. The two engineering greats joined forces to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Riva, part of the legendary Italian boating manufacturing company, the Ferretti Group and did not disappoint the VIP crowd.

For both boating and car enthusiasts, this was an event not to be missed, with the unveiling of the latest open yacht, the Riva 56’ Rivale and the Abarth 695 Rivale limited edition sedan and cabrio. The Abarth 695 Rivale sports a scorpion badge, which is dedicated to the 175 years of history of the world’s most famous shipyard. Both creations exude elegance combined with a sporty edge, with every last minute detail screaming excellence and sophistication, which we have come to expect from Italian manufacturing.

“The celebrations for the 175th anniversary of Riva are being complemented by the unique partnership with an evoking brand such as Abarth” declared Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group. “Presenting the 56’ Rivale, an iconic name in the history of Riva which today identifies the new open a charming, technological and powerful boat – means paying homage to our past while looking firmly into the future. Abarth was inspired by the extraordinary new Riva boat in designing its new special and limited edition model: the magnificent 695 ‘Rivale’. The partnership springs from common shared values, passion for excellence and research for performance, expressed as always with an unmistakably unique style.”

The two engineering legends are symbols of Italy and demonstrate how exceptionally beautiful human creation can be. The new 56’ Rivaleis strikingly crafted, with its sporty edge, dark metallic colouring, natural teak exterior, mahogany interiors and extensive, sleek glass panelling. She is beautifully streamlined, timelessly sophisticated, emanating quality, right down to the finest of details. Complimented by the teaming up with Abarth, for the revealing of the 695 Rivale, 175 sedans and 175 cabriolets, the company have named their limited edition vehicles after the open yacht, for this very occasion.  The finite details of quality and precision include two-colour blue and black hand-stitched leather seats with a celebratory logo stitched onto the headrest. It was about the combining of brilliance and the values of the two individual companies to create excellence and exceed what was thought possible.

In addition to excellence is the power and performance on offer. The 695 Rivale, 175 sedans and 175 cabriolets have 180 HP and 250 Nm of torque, with the weight-to-power ratio of a genuine supercar (5.8 kg/HP with a mass of 1045 kg) to accelerate from 0 to 100 in 6.7”, 225 km/h of top speed. The 56’ Rivale can reach a cruising speed of 31 knots and a maximum speed of 35 knots with either the twin 1000 HP MAN engines, or twin 1200 HP MAN engines.
