Boatshows are a great place to catch up on all the latest technology, toys and gizmos that are going to make boating easier, safer and more fun.

The Gold Coast International Boat Show and Marine Expo, which will be held in Coomera on the Gold Coast next month, will have a host of the products and technology not previously seen here before.

One product that fits into the “toy and technology” categories is the latest adventure camera from WASP, the WASPcam 9906 Camo, which will make its Australian premier at the show.

This little camera is not only ideal for any outdoor activity, it is even available in a range of different camouflage colours – as the name suggests, and it’s waterproof to 30m.

With both video and still photography capabilities this makes it ideal for filming or photographing your catch, even while it is still swimming in the water. The WASPcam can also be operated remotely with the camera up to 5m away from the operator, which puts a whole new angle on selfies in the water.

The WASPcam 9906 also features WiFi connectivity that enables you to connect the camera to an iPhone or Android for live viewing, recording and sharing content online.

It is waterproof to 30m without the addition of a waterproof case, and comes with a 1.5-inch LCD viewing screen on the back of the camera. It also has has loop recording and an auto looping function, which allows the camera to be used as a dash camera. Users can have their camera record in two-minute, five-minute, or 10 minute segments. Or turn off loop recording for continuous recording. The auto looping function allows the camera to record over older footage when the memory card is full. Users also can turn off all recording LED lights and camera noises, which is great for stealthy recording. The 9906 CAMO also includes a new Video Time-lapse feature, allowing users to shoot time-lapse videos at 1, 3, 5, 10, 30 or 60-second intervals.

It can record HD video up to 1440p30fps (and 1080p/60fps, 1080p/30fps, 720p/120fps, 720p/60fps, VGA/240fps) and captures still images up to 16-megapixel. It comes with a variety of mounting hardware so it’s ready to attach to your gear.

The WASPcam 9906 Camo can be seen at the All Marine Spares at the Gold Coast International Boat Show and Marine Festival, which will be held in Coomera on March 17-19. You can also get more information on the adventure camera at the AMS website.
